Assistant Manager (Safety Inspector) is responsible to uphold and continuously improve our Safety Management System in line with EASA requirements within an aerospace design and development environment. He / She will review system safety assessments for compliance with ARP4761, lead cross-functional risk assessments and maintain the organization-level risk and opportunity register. In this role, he / she will represent QMS in the System Safety Working Group, drive safety-awareness and human-factors trainings and evaluate audit findings to identify systemic risks, initiating corrective actions where necessary.
· Maintains the Safety Management System framework to meet EASA regulatory requirements, ensuring all SMS processes remain current and audit-ready.
· Reviews system safety assessments delivered by engineering teams for compliance with ARP4761 and internal safety directives.
· Represents Quality Management in the System Safety Working Group, ensuring safety-related corrective actions from audits or occurrence reports are implemented on schedule.
· Develops and delivers safety-awareness briefings to engineering teams, emphasizing reporting culture and human-factors principles.
· Facilitates cross-functional risk assessments for key processes, critical design reviews and supplier transitions, recording outputs in a common format.
· Owns the organization-level risk and opportunity register, ensuring all departments update their domain-specific registers monthly.
· Reviews audit findings to determine whether they are isolated events or symptoms of systemic risk, tracking risk treatment actions and initiating CAPA where mitigation proves ineffective.
· Performs any other related duties as assigned by management.
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aviation Management.
· 3-5 years of experience in system safety or aviation safety within an aerospace industry.
· Thorough understanding of ARP4761, MIL-STD-882 or equivalent safety standards and familiarity with safety management systems and SMS principles.
